All those persons who belongs to urdu short story the knew that SultanJamil Nasim is a well known short story writer and in this domine he is contributing since last more than fifty years,his first collection short stories was published when his age of writing was above thirty years.Since than he contributed four books of short stories .The under review book is third collection of his short stories,titled as “Aik Sham Ka Qissa”containing 14 remarkable stories. It is a difficult task to write more than one short stories on a particular subject.SultanJamil Nasim has taken this challenge & write 14 short stories on terrarism & parricidism which parralised the two big cities of Pakistan ei Karachi and Hyderabad(Sindh) during a decade (1988- 1998). Now the trrarism has became such evil that the smoke of fear has covered many countries especially USA & many EURUPIAN domains. But the stories of “Aik Sham Ka Qissa”belongs to the period when USA was supporting TALIBAN & klashankof culture ertered in Pakistan with other related evils. These stories contains different plot,events,charactors but based on the only one subject. SultanJamilNasim knows how to write &what to not write,he has command over the words which uses for creat the atmosphere, wherein he develops the stories that’s why his all the 14 stories are different each other but have the attraction to the readers. He uses his craft masterly in “Aik Sham Ka Qissa” (Title Story) Khak ke siwa. Fasl. ,Inkishaf,AiniGawah,Sathi, INTEZAR ( in this story he uses the technic of stage play which makes the story as an addition in urdu afsana)Taiz Hawa Ke Baad,Andhery sey Aagay.besides the above a story named “SAHARA” is purely narrative but it catches the attention of reader from start to end. No story in this collection is ignorable. I personally congratulate the author of AIK SHAM KA QISSA for giving such un forgatable short stories to urdu literature. |
